Take a journey back in time with Bill Knowland and Carson Duper as they share with you this work in progress:
The Rise and Fall of Burning Man
Using rarely screened 16mm film and concentrating on the “glory years” of the 90’s,
we follow Burning Man from its roots in the art underground through its evolution
into a worldwide cultural phenomenon.
Burning Man at Sunrise
More than a “best of” compilation, this film will chart the whole history of the event,
its triumphs and its flaws, side-by-side and compressed into an illusion of one “ideal” trip.
Raising of the Man
Burning Man participants assist in raising The Man.
Exploding Man
We show how a handful of anarchist daredevils created a celebration of total freedom…
Jumping Through Flames
No rules. No boundaries. “Survival is optional.” There is danger,
and an overwhelming sense of rising chaos just barely under control.
The Man and Crimson in 1991
“This is a microcosm of our society, a balancing act between personal freedom and
the rule of law – chaos versus order.” Carson Duper

This experimental-documentary presents a “super weekend” at Burning Man, combining footage from many years to create a single unified experience.
We hope you enjoyed this nostalgic trip back to Burning Man of the 90’s. We invite you to view the work in progress an independent film: “The Rise and Fall of Burning Man” and other Indie films we have produced.
